Recently, I've been playing around with different ratio-based grids, including the classic “golden ratio,” placing guidelines at 1.6* distances from a central origin point.
But experimenting with ratio-based grids is really time-consuming if you have to place all the rulers yourself, so I created a tiny little figma plugin for myself to do it quickly and easily.

You can set the size of the origin point (around which the initial rulers are placed) along with the ratio you want to use, and whether you want the lines to be placed on whole pixels at intervals of 4. I did that last part because I prefer to work on a 4px grid, but you're free to turn it off. 🙂
